TNTL.TV is a webcam game, so we want to be clear about what happens with your camera and your data. The short version: your camera stays on your device, and we keep only the little that the leaderboard needs.
Your camera never leaves your device
The smile detection runs inside your browser using Google MediaPipe. Your webcam video is read live on your own computer or phone to measure how much you smile. It is never recorded, uploaded, or sent to us or anyone else.
What we store
To run the leaderboard we keep a small amount of data in our database: a random anonymous ID we generate for you, the display name you type, your survival times for each round, and any YouTube links you submit as challenges. We never ask for your email, and there is no traditional account.
Saved in your browser
Your anonymous account code and a private recovery token are stored in your browser so you can keep your place and your scores across visits. Anything you draw on the page also lives only in your browser and clears on refresh.
Services we rely on
The site is hosted on Vercel, which also provides privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics. Our database is Neon. Challenge clips play through YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com). The face-detection model downloads to your browser from Google the first time you turn on your camera.
Removing your data
You can erase everything stored on your device by clearing this site's data in your browser. To have your name and scores removed from the leaderboard, email us at hello@trynottolaugh.fun.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will update.
